The Impact of Modern Technologies, Including AI, on the Sphere of Translation
Abstract
This paper explores the profound impact of modern technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), on the translation industry. Over the past decade, machine translation systems such as Google Translate and DeepL have evolved from basic rule-based models into advanced neural network–driven tools capable of near-human fluency. Drawing upon recent studies, the paper highlights how AI has reshaped translation accuracy, workflow efficiency, and professional ethics. While AI-assisted translation improves productivity and accessibility, challenges persist in maintaining cultural sensitivity, contextual accuracy, and data privacy. The study concludes that AI should complement, rather than replace, human translators, emphasizing the continued need for human creativity, intuition, and ethical decision-making in the translation process.Downloads
