Abstract

Language fluency is a part of the effective communication process, in particular when a new language is learnt. It not only concerns proper grammar, proper vocabulary, but also the skill of expressing oneself in a natural way, without using any unnecessary pauses and hesitations. In the case of English learners, fluency entails not only the mechanics of the language but also the minor details of communication that would sound more genuine and appealing. Idiomatic expressions are one of such factors that lead to fluency.
