The rapid expansion of mobile communication technologies has generated a substantial layer of specialized terminology in many languages. This study investigates the derivational features of mobile communication terms in English and Uzbek from a comparative linguistic perspective. The research analyzes the principal word-formation mechanisms involved in the creation of mobile communication terminology, including affixation, compounding, abbreviation, borrowing, semantic derivation, and hybrid formation. The study demonstrates that English mobile communication terminology is characterized by high internal derivational productivity, particularly through compounding and affixation, whereas Uzbek terminology develops mainly through lexical borrowing and adaptation of foreign stems to Uzbek morphological patterns. The article also examines the impact of globalization and digital discourse on terminological standardization in Uzbek. The findings contribute to comparative linguistics, terminology studies, and modern morphological research related to technological discourse.Downloads
