Abstract

The study of speech acts is fundamental to understanding human communication, especially in cross-linguistic and intercultural contexts. Speech acts, such as requests, apologies, and compliments, differ significantly across languages due to variations in linguistic structures, cultural norms, and social expectations. This article explores the linguopragmatic features of speech acts in foreign languages by analyzing their linguistic forms, contextual applications, and cultural underpinnings. The research highlights examples from English, Spanish, and Japanese, illustrating how pragmatics shapes communication strategies and influences language learning. Moreover, it addresses the challenges faced by learners in acquiring pragmatic competence and offers strategies for enhancing intercultural communication.
