Abstract

The article is devoted to the effective ways of teaching modal verbs through fairy tales, focusing on the comparative analysis of English and Uzbek folk narratives. Fairy tales, being a universal form of oral creativity, carry deep linguistic and cultural layers that can serve as authentic materials for language learning. The study argues that modal verbs, which express possibility, necessity, obligation, and ability, can be meaningfully taught through context-rich stories that naturally include moral lessons, hypothetical situations, and expressions of power or permission.
