The beginning of a new school year is a critical period for establishing the foundations of effective teaching and learning. The routines established in the classroom, the relationships developed between teachers and students, and the learning outcomes achieved throughout the academic year are closely interconnected. This article examines the importance of classroom routines, positive teacher–student relationships, and evidence-based instructional practices in promoting academic achievement and students’ social-emotional development. Drawing on educational research and established pedagogical theories, the article argues that predictable classroom structures, supportive interpersonal relationships, and clearly defined learning goals contribute to a positive learning environment. It also provides practical recommendations for teachers seeking to create inclusive, engaging, and academically successful classrooms from the first days of the school year.Downloads
