LEXICAL-SEMANTIC FEATURES AND ANALYSIS OF INTERNET SLANG

Abstract

This article analyzes the lexical-semantic features of internet slang, the factors influencing its formation, its functions in modern digital communication, and its impact on the standard literary language. Internet language is considered one of the rapidly developing layers of language through social networks, messengers, blogs, forums, and online games. The study highlights the formation of internet slang through abbreviations, borrowings from English, phonetic changes, metaphorical transfer, emotional-expressive means, and contextual meanings. The article also substantiates the role of internet slang in youth speech, its communicative functions, and the necessity of studying it from a linguistic perspective.
