INTEGRATING SOCIAL MEDIA INTO ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: PEDAGOGICAL POTENTIAL AND IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES

This article analyzes the pedagogical potential of using social media in English language teaching and strategies for its practical implementation. An experimental study was conducted with the participation of 40 students over a six-week period. During the lessons, tasks based on authentic videos from Telegram and YouTube platforms were organized, including discussions, short written comments, and online communication activities. The results showed that students’ vocabulary increased by an average of 14%, oral communication activity improved by 17%, and class participation rose by 12%. In addition, 72% of participants noted that learning through social media enhanced their independent learning skills. The findings indicate that social media tools are effective in increasing motivation, creating an authentic learning environment, and developing communicative competence in English language teaching.
